First Two Challenges of 2011

One of my resolutions for this year is to be more active in book reviews and competitions. To encourage myself with this, I've set up a smaller goal of being in (and completing) several book challenges. Most of these come from Goodreads or other bloggers, and I'm very excited to start. Here are the first two challenges on my list:

My first challenge of 2011 is to read 50 books this year. This isn't a huge challenge, so I've switched it up a bit. The only books I'll count on my list will be ones that I've been meaning to read for some time now, but I've been putting off for one reason or another. This might be the biggest challenge of all for me! For anyone interested, the link to the Goodreads page is:

My second challenge of 2011 is the Debut Author Challenge hosted by The Story Siren, whose wonderful blog can be found at http://www.thestorysiren.com/ The challenge is to read at least 12 books by debut YA authors in 2011. I plan to post a list of these later, as soon as I get a chance to get a better look at all the different books. I'm very excited for this one, it's a great way to find wonderful new authors with brand new books!

A Christmas Gift for all of you!

In case you haven't heard, Skyshelf is giving away free copies of the eBook Wish by Alexandra Bullen. Having read it in one sitting last night, I can vouch for this book, it's wonderful! I'll be posting a full review after the holidays. For now, everyone should download a free copy of this book! You do have to give the site a billing address, but the book is completely free and there is no need to give any credit card information or other means of payment. Nor do you have to have any type of e-reader, I do not, and the book worked just fine for me on my laptop.

Happy Holidays!

The Joy of Blogging...

Well, this is it. I've finally decided to get a blog. I've long since awaited the day when I could call myself the proud owner of my very own website. Err, blog. This now gives me a way to track all of my book challenges, goals, and reviews. And while I won't be posting much over the holidays (all these relatives to entertain!) I'm quite excited to start the new year with some great challenges and good books.
